Apple 6x6 oil on canvas panel

This apple was painted on a canvas panel, not on my usual wood panel and I felt that the brush took to the texture of the canvas as well as wood. As a matter fact I think it looks every bit as smooth as the wood panels. I'll do more. E-mail me at artistjohnwlong@live.com

Eggs 5x5 Oil on wood panel

After a couple of months doing these small paintings I had the feeling that my work was changing in ways I had not thought of changing. When you have to produce one a day you really have to get with it. I have two or three hours to get it, basically, finished. The result is softer edges but with an agonizing wait for it to cure out, since I have also gone back to oils. Anyway this was done during my earlier painting-a-day days (January). My only reason for going in to all this is because when I got it out to post I noticed the change in my painting.E-mail me at artistjohnwlong@live.com
